Myrna Kaye lists Benjamin Ross as a cabinetmaker in “Boston Furniture Craftsmen” in Boston Furniture of the Eighteenth Century. Although little is currently known of Benjamin Ross’ career and life he certainly was one of the leading cabinet-makers in Boston in the third quarter of the 18th century. Of particular interest on this chest on chest is the original set of fire gilt rococo brasses.
